Best high quality beginner spoon carving set/knives for small hands?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:47 AM PST

    Hello all!

This is my first post here, as my girlfriend recently expressed interest in carving spoons/kitchen utensils. We are relatively crafty as we are farmers, so I'm looking to set her up with the right tools to explore this craft. I am looking for recommendations on high quality equipment that will be comfortable for a woman with small hands to use. For reference, she is 5'2".

I'm of the mindset to invest in proper tools the first time around, so any recommendations for equipment (knives, sharpening tools, protective equipment) would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks to all in advance.

    Starters advice?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 02:26 PM PST

Hello! I've tried doing some small wooden carvings in the past and I haven't been to successful. I didn't have any special tools since I am new to the hobby. So it's my pocket knife and what ever wood I can find. I want to do little animal carvings- any advice on what I need, techniques, what type of wood to use?
