New Migaloo automata... Almost finished !!
My very first attempt at carving!! (I have since bought gloves, lol)
The finished walking staff , I did the grumpy looking chap on top and a mate did from the boots down!
First wood carving. Made it for a whittling class in school. Hope you guys like it!

Carved a 4 sculptures
Third carving attempt, far from perfect but I’m learning still. Giving it to a friend. Willing to take constructive feedback!

Sooo I'm completely new to all of this (#TotalN00b101). But I want to decorate some hair sticks, and I don't think I want to see the wood grain on it. Any ideas on how to remove the wood grain?

Stone base for woodcarving sculpture?

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a small piece of stone/granite/marble to use for a base to mount a small sculpture I made? I'm thinking maybe like 2x2 inches or so. Thanks.
