- Picked up a new hobby during quarantine
- Got scammed trying to buy wood online about a year ago. Finally got my hands on some nice wood
- Second WIP picture of my wooden ball jointed doll. I had to start over the face 4 times total after the first post of this project here. Mostly in basswood and birch wood on some parts. Model is the famous painting by Vermeer.
- Backside of a Birdhouse
- First wood carving!
- Brown trout made from cherry wood and epoxy resin I recently finished.
- Wabi-sabi eating spoon made from apple wood. Finished with mineral oil. This is my second spoon I've completed. I've had two break on me in-between this one and the first. Have you any of you broken a couple of spoons in your woodcarving journey?
- Beginner looking for tool recommendations.
- Natsilane - The mechanical orca -
- Hello fellow carvers! I carved cup in mouth guy.
- My first attempt at carving.
- Two interlocking rings
- My current project - Mr. Adalonige.
- Hand carved a dreamcatcher as a gift, all handtools besides some super glue on the leather strips
- Bronze cast of wood carvings, my grandpa made. Charles Tatum artist
- Good set of tools for a beginner (Ireland/Uk)
- I want to begin carving simple small figures. Would this set be appropriate for learning?

Beginner looking for tool recommendations. Posted: 08 May 2020 04:52 PM PDT Looking to pass the time during quarantine, new to it all. Want to make spoons/chess pieces. I understand I need a straight knife, hook knife, strop, compound, glove and sandpaper. Does anyone have recommendations that wont break the bank for the knives/strop+compound? I know the reccomended, Drake, Mora, Heiv, but can I get speciifc # recommendations for a first timer? [link] [comments]

Good set of tools for a beginner (Ireland/Uk) Posted: 07 May 2020 01:27 PM PDT Hi! I've been interested in carving for a while and with the lockdown in my country I thought now was a good time, problem is I don't know where to get a decent, relatively cheap set of tools for basic carving, any recommendations? Thanks! [link] [comments]
I want to begin carving simple small figures. Would this set be appropriate for learning? Posted: 07 May 2020 01:09 PM PDT https://trendtimbers.com.au/product/flexcut-beginner-palm-and-knife-set/ There's the set I'm interested in getting with a little bit of basswood. Please keep in mind I'm a complete beginner and will be starting from scratch. [link] [comments] |
