    New kid on the block here - what are your favorite videos/articles/books on how to learn the basics of chip carving? I've read that chip carving really boils down to the execution of a handful of fundamental cuts. Where do I learn these so I can practice?

    This is my very first thing I carved, it took me about 12 hours, it's fir wood, the only type of wood I've found. Thoughts for a newbie?
