    Today I present a little project I did a long time ago to see if I could have some wood carving skills. I love watches and horology, and Omega is my favorite brand of them all, so I carved their logo and painted it red and white along with a Speedmaster and Seamaster on the sides.

    WIP wooden ball jointed doll, head carving 2. Basswood with micro chisels (cheap no brand ones from china)and carving knives. Starting to sand down a bit so the image will be cleared before starting it's body parts. Final detailed carving will be after finishing to carve all body parts.

    The beginning of my wooden ball jointed dolls. I use micro chisels and chip carving knives. This head is basswood.

    Hate to make light of a natural disaster, but I should have plenty of blanks for the foreseeable future, starting with this fat Bradford pear branch that broke off and was caught by its source. Prayers for those also affected by this crazy Sally lady.

    Any idea on the type of wood? Picked up at an estate sale. Origin SE Asia/Pacific Islands perhaps?
