Does anyone have any tips on carving a dog to make it look more like a specific dog.

I'm still pretty new to this and so far only done carvings by following tutorials on YouTube. I've seen a couple of designs for generic dogs but wanted to make it look more like my dog to give as a gift.

First ever carving. Tiny little butter knife made of Poplar. Fully appreciating now how talented all of you are!
