Posted: 21 Nov 2019 05:47 AM PST I'm new to this forum and have enjoyed seeing everyone's work. The mini Pintails are the latest from my bench. Most of my carving is bird-related (waterfowl, raptors and some songbirds) and for the past 4 years I've selected a different decoy to be the "Christmas Duck" that I sell and give as gifts. Northern Pintails are one of my favorite ducks. Five inches long, carved from Tupelo and painted with acrylics. Thanks for looking. [link] [comments]

Wood you give a newbie some advice? Posted: 20 Nov 2019 10:42 PM PST Oof, not even a dad yet and I have those babies locked and loaded. I'm very new to carving, and I love relief carving. I took a class, which got me my first two pieces of wood. I'm looking to purchase more for some more projects, and I just don't know what to look for. What dimensions wood (hehe) you look for, and what services do you use to shop for it? I think I have a seller (woodcraft.com) but I don't want to buy the wrong thing. Assume I know nothing, because I really don't. Thanks so much for any help or insight yall can give, and sorry about the horrible, horrible pun. [link] [comments]
