A hobby I've always wanted to try, just purchased this basic kit. A couple of novice questions if that's okay, What other tools should I get as a beginner? Which wood is easiest for a beginner? Can anyone point me in the direction of some good beginner tutorials

Safest way to fuse a pipe together that's cut in half?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 05:38 PM PDT

So I think I would really enjoy carving steamroller style pipes. But I don't have anything but hand tools to work with. So I was wondering could I cut a piece of wood in half. Carve out the inside, and put them back together? In a safe way to still smoke with it?

My thoughts so far are these: 1. Wood glue and hemp string tied around. (Not sure if the blue would be safe or not).

    1. 2 small hidden screws on each end holding it together.

    2. Carving some type of joints into each piece for it to stick together. Then using a coating on the outside to help it hold.

What would be the best way to do this?
