Step by Step Guide To Your First Wooden Chair

For lovers of carpenter projects, below are the carpentry plans to make an easy but perfect chair. Plan details can be found below as this isn't originally my plan.

The materials needed to build the chair are:

· 2 lateral pieces of the seat with the following proportions: 360 mm x 25 mm x 45 mm

· 2 pieces of pine wood for the front and rear seat slats: 400 mm x 25 mm x 45 mm

· 2 pieces of pine wood for the backrest slats with the indicated measurements: 400 mm x 25 mm x 70 mm

· 2 pieces of pine wood for the backrest of the rear legs and the measurements are: 750 mm x 55 mm x 35 mm

· 2 pieces of pine wood for the front legs of the chair: 420 mm x 55 mm x 35 mm

· 1 Piece of MDF or upholstered solid wood for the 9 or 12 mm 420 mm x 420 mm seat

· Metal sandpaper

·Saw

· Portable drill or bench drill

· Woodworking glue

·Pencil

·Ruler

Guide to build the perfect and easy wooden chair

Place the rear and front legs together on a large table and proceed to mark with a pencil the spaces to be drilled in each box.
Only the front legs are discounted 1 cm high to form the hammer-like spike.
Mirror the legs to follow the trace with the help of the pencil on each side of the chair legs.
Then you discount 2 centimeters on the top of the rear legs corresponding to the back of the chair.
Then with the line, we have just marked it will be used as a baseline to mark another line referring to the backer rod and the distance will be 3 inches wide on the rear legs.
Then we mark 2 centimeters apart and mark a new 3-inch backer rod, having a total of two rods.
The spike and the box opening will be 1 centimeter thick; therefore move the front leg measuring 1 cm for the shank to the rear leg and mark the guidelines to drill the opening where the shank will fit.
For the front legs, the boxes are drilled on the side and front face where the saddle slats are hooked.
Proceed to drill each box on the rear legs where each dowel will be connected, specifically on the rear edge, there are two boxes on each rod for the back legs support.
To make the spikes we adapt the saw to the required height of 1 cm or 2 cm depending on the leg we are working on and you proceed to carry out the sweeping system, which consists of making several openings resembling the appearance of a comb and we begin to slide up and down the wood strip to remove excess wood and form the dowel.
With the help of the metal sandpaper, round the corners of the pins so that they fit perfectly in the curve of the box of each leg.
Begin to assemble the front part, add carpentry glue on the boxes, and the edge and insert the legs, with the help of a rubber mallet, hit to connect each piece.
Assemble the back, use the glue, the rubber mallet or hammer to press the wooden slats and attach the pieces.
Assemble both sides and place the chair upside down to mark the points where the seat will be hooked.
Drill holes to hold the seat.
Place the seat that can be made of solid wood or MDF. 17. Finally paint the chair or add a varnish that highlights and protects the surface of the wood.
