    My way of sculpting

    Posted: 03 Oct 2020 04:09 AM PDT

Every time I post, a lot of people recommend me this or that tool of sculpture, or they say that i'm crazy to sculpt with an opinel (my knife) because it's too dangerous or too hard. So basically i'm carving some cembro pine this wood is smooth as butter. Then my knife is very well sharp, like a barber knife. Finally, i sculpt as we do in the queyras (a small region in the french alps). And this is my biggest motivation : to sculpt as my ancestors were sculpting. Ps: I have a youtube channel on which I would make videos showing how I sculpt so if you are uninterested subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3o0fJk0DP5SVrqX7zeV2KA

Many people think that small patterns will be easy to carve, and conversely large patterns will be difficult to carve. But the reality is not so, small patterns will be difficult to carve, small details require high precision, if not careful the carpenter can destroy it.
