My first attempt is to carve a pendant. I know it’s not the best, but I’m proud of that. :)

Just stumbled onto a handle that dremel sells for their 3000/4000. Has anyone used them? I've got arthritis and it looks amazing. Link below....

I got a set of knives and some basswood blanks for Christmas, and I'm pumped to get started! I'm a little bit confused, though. The blanks I got look roughly 1.5 inch by 6 inch, which seems overly long and skinny for a lot of projects. Looking around online, though, this doesn't seem like an unusual length for blanks. Is this just so I can make a lot of spoons? Or snakes? Or is the idea to saw it into smaller chunks, or carve something on the top of it then saw it off when I'm done?
