- Is it a sin to Dremel?
- Halbarad
- Because I never do anything halfway, I chose a challenge for my second piece (ever): basswood chain links. Definitely feeling proud right now. They’re not perfect but they just delight me to no end.
- Spoon made from beech.

- Thought I’d share this beautiful violin here, hope you enjoy!
- I tried to match the vibrant red of the Sockeye Salmon in this one. Maybe my favorite net so far. I made this for Mr. Barone in Road Island. It is net No. 011 If I had to do it over again I would have selected a lighter part of the walnut tree for the handle. Still happy though.

Posted: 20 Mar 2021 06:25 AM PDT New to the board... and wood carving in general. I see a lot of peeps tend to favour more traditional tools. Thoughts or opinions on using a power tool? I hope I won't get totally flamed for this q [link] [comments]

Carving Ocarinas; Too ambitious for beginners or just right? Posted: 19 Mar 2021 10:18 PM PDT Here is a YouTube video that inspired me to look into wood carving: https://youtu.be/pEeN6-kFm4g For those who don't click, it's a video of a person demonstrating how to carve and make an ocarina out of wood. I love ocarinas and thought this would be super fun to try! So my question is, is this type of project too ambitious for someone just starting out? What techniques should I learn to help me achieve this? Keep in mind I have never carved anything in my life, except sticks when I earned my whittling chip when I was in the scouts. Any help or guidance is appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments]
