Posted: 22 Jul 2021 01:46 PM PDT Hi everyone. I've built somethings (desks cabinets, etc) before but never carved anything for an artistic purpose. and have always wanted to get started with carving but keep putting it off. I've decided it's time to just start and stop wasting time. What advice do you guys have for an absolute beginner. What tools would a beginner need? What type of wood is best at first. What are somethings I should start sculpting initially to hone my skills before diving into more intricate art. What do you wish you knew before you started? Any advice you give me will be greatly appreciated. Or feel free to link me to any resource you found helpful when first starting. I know this sounds stupid but I've wanted to do this for years and I'm very enthusiastic to finally start and hopefully start sharing my work with you guys/gals on here (once it doesn't look like garbage that is lol) Thank you all [link] [comments] |
