Please help me with sharpening knives. I don’t know why, but I just can’t seem to do it?

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 09:28 PM PST

Hi, as stated, I can't seem to sharpen my carving knives. I have tried a strop and a whetstone, and I just feel like no matter how long I spend going back and forth, my knife never gets sharper. For reference I am using flex cut knives and a flex cut strop. The whetstone is one I got on amazon. I've watched tutorials from Doug Linker and other tutorials for a whetstone and my knives just never get sharper? Please help, thanks

Looking for a (budget friendly) versatile V-tool

    Posted: 11 Jan 2020 02:24 PM PST

Need help finding a 1/4" or 4-4.5mm 60 to 90 degree V-tool. I found a couple with the palm style grip, which I'm not sure if I want... Are grips styles useful? Drake has some for $30 which is a bit more than I wanted to pay but if that's the best option and I'll never need to replace it then it's something I'll consider.

From experienced carvers do you prefer... Straight or bent style? 60 degree or 90 degree?
