In honor of Animal Crossing New Horizons releasing in the past week and being stuck inside for the past few days, here is a carving I did of Tom Nook. Yay for quarantining! Enjoy!

    Hirsch vs Pfeil chisels

    Posted: 24 Mar 2020 07:51 AM PDT

    Hey folks!

I wanted to know if the quality difference between the above two brands was noticeable. Everyone seems to recommend Pfeil but my local store carries Hirsch. I have a couple tools from Hirsch right now and I do like them, though I don't have much exposure. For those who have used both, can you tell me about your experience and what you recommend?

    Thanks guys.

How to split logs for carvings and boards?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 09:20 PM PDT

I've got plenty of access to logs. I've been doing flat carvings on boards so I'm mostly interested in that. Without breaking our a chainsaw or trying to get a flat split and sanding it. Any advice?

    Question about wood?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2020 04:46 PM PDT

I recently bought a house and there are some railroad ties that are no longer being used. Some of its rotted but some is good wood. Is this good carving wood or even good for anything
