Request: Beginners guide to get started Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:14 AM PDT Can we please get a sidebar with a guide of resources on where to get started? Everyone knows that the search tool on reddit is a joke. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Apr 2020 06:47 PM PDT Need Help With Wood Question Please! Recently purchased a house and the entire kitchen walls, cabinets, and built-ins are made of Wormy Chestnut. Upon further research, this is somewhat rare wood and we are trying to get an idea of how valuable it could be to sell? I am at best a novice when it comes to wood and we are trying to figure out what route we want to take. The way we see it, our options are to leave everything as is, but that's maybe a little darker look than we want. Leave just the cabinets and sell the walls and some of the built-ins. (Leaning towards this) Take out all the cabinets, wall wood, and built ins depending on how much money we could potentially get from the wood. The wood itself is in great shape and looks beautiful, so anyway, thanks in advance I am just trying to get as much information as I possibly can on this topic. [link] [comments]
New to wood carving. Tools for hand carving bowls? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 11:05 AM PDT Hi all. I am totally new to wood carving, but came across some beautiful apple wood on my property and have the itch to try to make bowls. I probably won't get into some of the beautiful detail work that y'all can do. Any recommendations for affordable wood carving tools that I can use to make the bowls? I was also thinking of trying to use a spade bit to help me along, does that make sense? Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
