    Anyone found a good glove?

Anyone found a good glove that is proven to work for safety but can still handle the wood? Every cut resistant glove I see has reviews of people wearing them and still getting pretty injured, Im sure its still better than nothing but has anyone found one thats actually really good? Or has anyone tried the chainmail - is that easy to work with?

    DJax Wood Carving

Just carved my first piece, this little dwarf dude. All I had was a box knife and some scrap cedar, but I'm definitely thinking about investing in some proper carving tools. How well does live oak or juniper carve?

First attempt at wood carving, started as a wizard, turned into a weird minion thing, any tips to make it better would help.

Will a Burnt Finish Remove Too Much Detail?

    Posted: 18 May 2020 02:22 PM PDT

I want to make an Onitama (small chess-like board game) set for friend and turn then carve the game pieces from maple. I was thinking of using a blow torch on the dark set for contrast instead of using a different wood. Has anyone tried this? How much detail will it burn off? TIA!!!
