- I made a little bear! :)

- First wood carving ever is a gnome! :) Can’t wait to make more!
- Basic tools for begginers
- Practicing my chip carving
- A mortar and pestle I’d given up on
- Started woodcarving a few weeks back. I want to do a series of different mushrooms. Any advice is appreciated.
- Can anyone tell me why my carving has become fuzzy, cost its oil-finish and stained accents, and how to avoid this? See my profile for the before photo. Is it because of birch oxidation? Did I not sand fine enough? Thanks.

Posted: 25 Jun 2020 02:53 AM PDT Hi! I've been following this thread for some time and i've been watching youtube videos on woodcarving and it seems very interesting! I'd like to try it but I get lost in all the types of tools and sizes and I don't really feel like buying 100 diferent sizes for the same type of tool until I truly know that I enjoy it as much as I think I would. Plus, I cant really afford buying a lot of tools at once... So my question is: what basic tools do you recommend, and what sizes are used the most? Edit: I'd like to carve little figures [link] [comments] | ||
