    Power Carving Struggles

    Posted: 12 Sep 2020 06:17 PM PDT

    Hi Team,

I've dabbled in power carving over the years but I've struggled with my lack of control and what I see as low efficiecy in removing material as I work. I have tried with a Dremel flexshaft and a We Cheer 330R (which broke on the first use, cannot recommend this tool). Ultimately, I want to do some gunstock carving, but even practicing on a basswood blank, I'm having a hard time removing material and maintaining control with a detail handpiece, carbide bits, at 30,000 rpms.

Are there any suggestions or protips you can give me for relief carving with a power carver? Thanks!

I really want to get into wood carving but I don't know where to start?

I've been woodworking for a couple of years and just recently I bought a Dremel 3000 since it was on sell and I couldn't pass by that price. And it's just been sitting there in my shed for a good couple of weeks now and I don't know what to do with it, like what should I make or what should we do to practice incompletely loss. if anyone could help me just by telling me a couple of tips or giving me a good project to practice to make would be greatly appreciated

Friends, I offer to watch another video on creating a carved frame in the Baroque style. Although it is in the Ukrainian language, but I think you will be able to learn something useful for yourself.
