    Relief carving in butternut wood - a scene from the game Hollow Knight. An additional board is added on the front where the little Knight is carved in a full dimension. Around 8 x 11.5 inches without the pine framing.

    How important is sanding in a sequence? (e.g. going from 80 grit to 120 grit to 180 grit....)

    How important is it to gradually increase your grit when sanding a carving?

    If it is important, what would the sequence look like when going from 1000 grit to 2000 grit?
