Beginner woodcarver, ruined a brand new mora knife.... Posted: 22 Oct 2021 02:52 PM PDT Bought a basic mora knife for doing some wood carving, got the knife and then needed to sharpen it, made a strop out of leather from an old bag and then some green compound, been stopping every night for about 2 weeks and the knife just got duller... my technique must of been not right atall, really frustrating to say the least. Ended up giving the knife to a friend to "sharpen" who used basically a metal grinder device wich has basically ruined the knife completely I feel. I'm so upset and really put off... don't know what to do. I just wanted to try carbe some wood and having a nightmare before I even get to the wood.... [link] [comments] |
