    Beginner Stropping Question

I think I let my carving knife get too dull, I don't think I was stripping it as often as I needed to. Anyways, when I try to use the strip with the yellow compound it doesn't seem to be getting very sharp. Do I need to get a sharpening tool now? And also how often should I be stripping the knife while I'm actually carving?

It's done. Box elder bowl, handcarved, 12"x3". Walnut oil, then beeswax and carnauba wax mix for finish. I was surprised how nice the wood looked. It must be true: When you think you're done sanding, keep sanding!
