How do I begin to sell my tree wood to a supplier or for lumber? Posted: 28 Jan 2022 08:13 AM PST I have two downed American chestnut trees that have a diameter of five feet or so. I was going to chop it up for firewood but someone told me the type and size of wood would be way more valuable to sell and I could buy more firewood with the proceeds. They know a guy who would act as a middle man to sort this out, but I was curious about how I get to the "source" myself. Do I just call sawmills? And, what should I expect? Will they come and load the huge trunks onto a truck? Is it worth the $$? I assume my yard would get pretty torn up by big lumber/crane trucks so I have that to consider too. I know this sub is for wood working but I figured some of you folks would have some idea of the supply chain. Thanks for your advice! [link] [comments] | ||
