Posted: 24 Dec 2019 05:56 AM PST So ive got different knives - a beavercraft knife, a flexcut knife, and occ knife, and a drake knife. I've got plenty of basswood, and I've been following guides on how to strop and carve, and i cant seem to get anywhere with my carvings. Ive been trying to do the 5 minute wizard/santa and i cant get past the first cut because i cant make the stop deep enough, and then end up chipping the wood or it just creates really chunky shavings that dont chip off. And ive gone both ways grain wise. Im really just not sure what im doing wrong, like do i have shitty basswood, am i not stropping my knives properly? [link] [comments] | ||
