    Hatchet handle

    Posted: 01 May 2020 09:02 AM PDT

Hello everyone. I have a hatchet that has been mistreated and needs a new handle. I have a wood blank that i want to carve a new handle from. I have traced the shape of the current handle onto the blank to give me an idea of size and shape, but now, given that i have very few tools, how would i carve it? What hand tools would you use? Where would you start? Please share your thoughts and guidance. Thank you. And please, i dont need or want anyone giving me attitude because i havent been doing this as long as them or dont have the tools or dont have the exp or whatever. Ty

    Recommendations for chisels / gouges.

    Posted: 01 May 2020 06:13 AM PDT

I am looking for recommendations on chisel/gouges for relief carving signs.

I have bought a set of Flexcut palm gouges and have a set of Stanley flat chisels. I am looking for input on what is a decent chisel/gouge for mid range price. I have been looking on Amazon at Pfeil gouges. These seem like a decent tool and the cost is somewhat high, but maybe it is worth it?

What advice would you give someone on a chisel/gouge brand?

Make 16,000 Projects With Step By Step Plans

Adept woodworker Ted McGrath created the Ted's Woodworking Package as a valuable resource that would present woodworkers with some very remarkable ideas and projects. The package has various qualities that make it the "#1 Woodworking Resource" and some of those qualities along with a few petty pitfalls will be assessed in this review.

What Kind of Projects Does Ted's Woodworking Package Contain?

Ted McGrath, the mastermind who created this innovative package, himself is also an educator and a member of AWI as well. Ted's Woodworking Package contains a diverse selection of 16,000 easy ideas and projects, including:

    - Arbor Plans
    - Barn Plans
    - Cabinet Plans
    - Dog House Plans
    - Garage Plans
    - Swing Plans
    - Windmill Plans
    - Many more

Woodworkers will find it really easy to begin woodworking when they are following because all the ideas and projects Ted's resource are easy to understand and simple. Ted McGrath spent two years researching so that he could gather enough material for an extensive package, and he ended up creating a truly 'complete' woodworking resource.

Many might still seem unsure whether they should be purchasing Ted's Woodworking Package, despite all the positive traits. The myriad of resources available online make it even more difficult to make the right choice. There are actually many things that set Ted's Woodworking Package apart from others.
