    Sharpening knives

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 07:52 AM PST

Good morning, I'm sure you receive questions about knife sharpening very often. My questions are fairly direct. How often do you find you need to sharpen your knives? Is it better to have them professionally sharpened? Does technique and experience lead to not needing to sharpen as often? Thank you, and I love seeing everyone's work on here. It gives me something to aspire for.

Is it possible for basswood to be kind of tough to cut through

    Posted: 24 Jan 2021 07:47 AM PST

I ordered some air dried basswood on eBay and my knife is brand new I also Used a Strop several times. And it seems a little tough to get through the wood. My knife is a flex cut whittlin jack and I'm pretty new to the hobby but watching videos it seems like people get through the woods much easier than I've been so I was just wondering.
