Recommended tools for a beginner? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 04:01 PM PST Hello all! I'm brand-new here, and I couldn't find any rules, so if this post isn't allowed, I apologize. Anyway, my question is: What would y'all recommend for a set of beginner tools? I've been interested in wood carving for years, but I've never pulled the trigger and given it a go. What basic tools do I need to get started? And do you have any recommendations on specific brands and/or sets? I hold to the opinion that, if you're going to buy a tool, buy the best one you can afford, so I'm not terribly concerned about price. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 08:33 PM PST I'm looking for cheapish yet reliable gouges in Canada. I was recommended 5/12 and 5/25 for the type of figures I do. If cheap and reliable doesn't exist then I'll go mideange, but something like Pfeil is a bit out of my range. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 07:56 PM PST I'm very new to wood carving and I'd like to carve a waffle ice cream cone. I can do the cone shape, but how can I create the square shaped waffle texture? [link] [comments]
